The FTC ordered Retina-X Studios to stop selling their programs and to delete all customer data after it became apparent that they could be used to spy on unsuspecting victims. The FTC article uses the term "stalkerware". Two years prior Retina-X servers were compromised by a hacker who obtained photographic information from the TeenShield, PhoneSheriff, SniperSpy, and Mobile Spy products.
